Smith & Hook Sauvignon Blanc Central Coast in a glass

Sauvignon Blanc Central Coast

This classic Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from vineyards in the Central Coast. Here, consistently warm sunny days are followed by cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean at night, which leads to extended hang times and results in wines with great structure, round mouthfeel, and balanced acidity.

TASTING NOTES

Fresh, bright, and crisp, this pale straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc features zesty flavors of grapefruit and citrus with subtle herbal notes and vivid acidity. The finish lingers with minerality and hints of gooseberry and lemongrass.

FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS, WE HAVE BEEN CRAFTING AWARD-WINNING WINES ALONG CALIFORNIA’S CENTRAL COAST

Ranging from Santa Barbara north to the Golden Gate Bridge, the Central Coast wine region extends 300 miles along California’s Pacific coastline. To craft Smith & Hook Sauvignon Blanc, we focus on warm-climate vineyards of the Arroyo Seco appellation.

Arroyo Seco

Arroyo Seco

Translating to “dry riverbed,” Arroyo Seco begins in a steep, narrow gorge at the foot of the Santa Lucia Mountain range and extends east to the Salinas Valley. With a cooler climate, the AVA straddles a gravelly, dry riverbed that yields fruit with balanced acidity and tannins, contributing structure and backbone to the finished wine.
